Got off to a nice start this morning with a good breakfast of Rice Crispies, then headed out to EPCOT for the park’s opening.  Today it was only Dan and I and we had a blast just roaming all over the park.  We mostly retraced our steps from last year and ended up doing so in a very short amount of time.  The swearing parents and derogatory grandparents we encountered just made the laughs keep coming all day long.  Even when it started pouring, we didn’t let it keep us down.  The one thing that did bother me all day though was that I hadn’t thought it’d be that windy, so I didn’t put anything in my hair.  Big mistake.  My hair was wild and crazy all day long, and just about every picture we took all day proves it.  Oh well.

Woke up very early this morning to a dripping sound outside the room I’m staying in.  With one of their roommates gone for the week on his own vacation trip, I get to enjoy a bed instead of the couch.  However, since it gets so cold here at night they don’t believe in air conditioning, so all the windows in the apartment are left open.  That didn’t bother me too much until I woke up at 5:30 to hear a dripping sound outside.  I tried to ignore it and fall back asleep, but that didn’t work.  Then I tried closing the windows in the room, but that didn’t help either.  Then I said “screw it” and just laid in bed until it was time to get up and get ready for our day at Magic Kingdom.

Got up at 5:30 this morning (after packing until 1 am last night) to head to the airport for my flight to Florida.  Casey stayed over last night so she could give me a ride, so we got up early and headed out so I could begin my vacation.  I was exhausted when I collapsed into bed, but I was full of energy when my alarm went off.  With a flight to Florida waiting for me, how could I not be?

I attended the Austin Film Festival over the weekend, with the sole intent of seeing only one of the featured films.  I rode down to Austin with my friends Jayme and Sarah to see the premiere of independent film “How To Be” starring Robert Pattinson.  Upon arriving we learned that the line for the 7:15 movie had already begun and it was only 12:30.  At that point we had to decide whether to sightsee around downtown Austin for a few hours, or get in line right away in hopes of getting into the movie – either choice required sacrifice.

I’m faced with a moral dilemma.  I’m due to elect my benefits for 2009 by next week.  Even though my job is being discontinued at the end of this year, my benefits coverage extends at least a few months into 2009, and longer if I so choose.  One of the options I have when making my elections is to have a Flexible Spending card.  To my understanding, what this does is allows me to purchase medications and use for medical procedures like a credit card, and then the bill is gradually deducted from my paychecks throughout the year.  I was recently made aware of a very big loophole in the terms of the flex card, and I’m not sure whether or not I’ll be acting on it.
