Dean. This is a very emotional blog that I have just read. Im really glad that you and Terry are friends. You will always have someone there for you, just remember that.

What a blessing for you to have a friend like Terry. I once had a friend like that but we grew apart after high school and she is no longer living. I was horribly betrayed by a female “best friend” many many years ago, and I have never again filled that slot (major trust issues). My bestest friend is Pete. He is also the love of my life. Twenty five years together and I still can’t wait to get home to him in the evening. I wish that for all my family and friends. Like Pam, I live far away from all my family (not as far as her though). My closest relative is five hours away. My only child is ten hours away. Thanks to modern cell phone technology, I can stay in constant touch at an affordable price. Through your web site, you too can stay in constant touch with Terry – and others who are far away.

I am still adjusting to a move I made over 4 years ago to the northwest leaving behind family, friends, church and closing down a business. Now I live on an island and though I don’t have to deal with the heat and it is beautiful I miss my family and friends. I can adjust to the change in business and church easier and have found new ones here but there is just no way to replace family and friends. I have resigned myself to accept the fact that it may never feel right. If Terry has lived his life in the states chances are it will be more difficult for him than it will be for you. I agree with Kelsey you are a good friend and a kind person that attracts allot of people so changes are you will find good company to spend time with and I am sure friendships will grow out of that. Be encouraged.

Goodbye’s are the hardest thing ever. Trust me I know… you know I know
It’s been just over 15 months since I’ve seen my best friend. It is hard to be so far away from someone that means so much to you. I was so used to having her close enough to visit and if I ever needed her she would be there in a heart beat. Now we’re both so busy it’s hard to even get her on the phone – as you know since you can’t reach her either lol.
I was lucky, however, because I had Michael to fill the void. Of course no one can replace her Michael did help.
I just want you to know that I am here for you for as long as I can be physically and when we move you can call me no matter when. You also have other friends and of course no one can replace Terry just know that they are also your friends and who knows maybe you’re their Terry.

I am so happy for you, that you can talk like this about someone that you call a friend, because allot of people will never get to talk about a friend the way you can. All of us would like to have a friend like you describe, the reason that most of us don’t is because we are not the kind of person you just described. Dean you have a great friend because you are a great friend. Now run that up the flag pole and see who salutes it!
Also keep in mind that when he leaves you will stay in touch and the friendship can go on. Hear is the kicker, and get excited because this is good, you will have an opening in your life and schedule for some lucky person to be your friend. So get ready, set the standards high and start taking resumes, because it sounds like being your friend is a great position to have.
